Imam Moosa Kazim alaihissalam said about understanding the religion correctly:
“Ponder about Allah`s religion, as pondering is the key for insight, perfection of worship and way of achieving high destinations and great positions in this world and hereafter.”
(Tohaful Uqool, Page: 302 /Bihar-ul-Anwaar, Vol.10, Page: 247, Hadees: 13)[1]
Paying attention to the fact that the Shia population in India is around 30 million and as a result Shia youths are in significant numbers in our country. It is known that a large number of Shia youths are unaware about essential knowledge of basic Islamic teachings such as Tauheed, Imamat, Ijtehad, Taqleed and Ethic etc.; and those who have little understanding of Deen are victim of excessiveness or carelessness.
On the other hand, the penetration of Wahhabism and Zionism in majority of India has brought hindrance in the path of guidance and propagation of the religion.
It is highly required to present the role of religion in current time in all the spheres of life in a systematic and gentle manner in our Indian society and to fulfill its need, so it was decided to organize a crash course for the educated Shia youths by the name of Deen aur Hum along with a question-answer session in a systematic and continuous way.
Goals and Objectives of Deen aur Hum
Before organizing the classes, goals and objectives which have been decided are as follows:
· To make youth familiar with true Islam, its requirement and its role in life and to describe the comprehensiveness of Islam.
· To evolve a base for the best skilled people of the society and to uplift their level of thinking for the purpose of serving the religion.
· To establish a well-managed association for social affairs and to draw attention of efficient students towards Hauza-e-Ilmia.
· To explore their potentials and guide them towards their real goals.
· To promote unity among our youths along with the mutual brotherhood.
· To establish a path for preaching religion and to gain experience in religious and social programs.
· To prepare an appropriate educational curriculum in our community so that Islamic teachings can be given easily.
Steps which were taken in last 5 years to achieve these goals and objectives through Deen aur Hum classes are given below and thanks to Allahs.w.t. that most of these are successfully achieved:
